The Opportunity
Shape the World Around You - Join a team that supports major mining infrastructure projects across Northern Québec and remote regions. In this role, you'll apply your field expertise to heavy civil works, ensuring safe, high-quality construction that supports communities and contributes to the growth of Québec's mining sector.
Your Impact
- Deliver on-site monitoring of heavy civil construction activities to ensure work is completed safely and in accordance with specifications.
- Conduct materials quality control, including soil, aggregate, and concrete sampling to support reliable project delivery.
- Perform field testing such as in-situ density with a nuclear densimeter, fresh concrete testing, and field/lab classification tests to confirm compliance with project standards.
- Produce clear daily reports that document site progress and support project decision-making.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to provide technical support and contribute to construction planning in challenging northern environments.
- Verify adherence to project drawings and specifications, identifying issues and supporting swift resolution.
- Champion safety at all times, promoting WSP's culture of care and maintaining safe work practices in remote field conditions.
The Skills That Set You Apart
- You hold a diploma in civil engineering (AEC, DEC, or equivalent) supported by hands-on field experience.
- You bring 10+ years of construction site experience in civil works or material testing environments.
- You are resourceful, autonomous, and thrive outdoors in dynamic, fast-changing weather conditions.
- You are comfortable working in remote regions and participating in a 14-on / 14-off FIFO rotation.
- You meet all essential requirements, including a valid Québec driver's licence and an ASP Construction Safety Card.
- You communicate confidently in French (mandatory) and English (an asset).
- Having packer-test experience is an advantage for certain mining infrastructure scopes.

Compensation:
- Zone1 (AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT): $84,500 - $113,500
- Zone2 (MB & ON): $81,900 - $112,800
- Zone3 (NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC): $81,100 - $107,700
