This position is within the market sector Renewable Energy of the Power Division. This market sector specializes in renewable projects related to solar, wind and battery storage. We work in collaboration with public and private sector clients on innovative projects that allow our team members to prove their expertise and to train a new generation of passionate people.

In order to meet these growth challenges, WSP is currently looking for a Structural Engineer - Renewable Energy to join our national team in Solar, located in one of our offices in Canada.

What you can expect to do with us:
• Lead structural engineer on renewables projects, specifically in the solar market;
• Collaborate and lead other team members for the preparation of calculations, reports, drawings and specifications for:
o Solar structure, piles and racks;
o Substation and other electrical structures part of a solar project;
• Office and occasionally on site construction support services and inspection (+/-10% of the role);
• Ensure design compliance with relevant engineering standards and codes, as well as internal QA/QC procedures;
• Accompany the client in his decision process making by providing technical advices;
• Use state-of-the-art finite element modelling software and other internal tools to analyze soil/structure interaction of solar structures;

We would like to know more about you if you have
• Bachelor or Master's degree in Structural/Civil engineering or equivalent;
• 3 to 10 years of engineering design experience, experience in the solar market required;
• Registered Professional Engineer with the APEGA, OIQ, APGNB or other provinces;
• Excellent communication skills both orally and in writing.
• Experience related in renewable project design is considered as a strong asset;
• Field experience in the construction of renewable projects is considered as an asset;
• Experience in pile design, substation design or hydro and dam design is considered as an asset;
