Department Overview

The Credit Platform team is responsible for developing and maintaining technical solutions that support the bank's personal lending products and services. We work to ensure stable, secure, and scalable systems that meet the evolving needs of our customers and business partners. Position Overview:

The Sr. Business Systems Analyst (BSA) will play a critical role within the Credit Platform product family, reporting to an Engineering Manager. This role bridges the gap between business needs and technical solutions, working closely with stakeholders, technology teams, and cross-functional partners to define, document, and deliver system requirements. The BSA will leverage their expertise in system analysis, requirements management, and Agile delivery to drive successful project outcomes while ensuring alignment with organizational goals. They will also contribute to process improvements, risk management, and change management initiatives, fostering collaboration and a customer-centric approach. This position requires strong technical acumen, strategic thinking, and the ability to mentor and lead others.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage and communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders, adapting style and techniques to suit the audience and achieve consensus on business requirements.
  • Customer-Centric Approach: Analyze impacts on customers, stakeholders, employees, processes, and technology to ensure business results align with the end-to-end customer experience.
  • Project Leadership: Lead and own project deliverables related to business requirements, ensuring alignment with customer, employee, and business needs.
  • Requirements Management: Plan, elicit, analyze, document, and manage business requirements using structured approaches and various elicitation techniques.
  • Change Management: Contribute to change management best practices, including stakeholder analysis, gap analysis, and change planning, to manage impacts effectively.
  • Process Improvement: Identify, document, and validate current state processes while collaborating with stakeholders to design the desired future state.
  • Risk and Issue Management: Proactively identify, track, and mitigate risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies related to requirements, aligning decisions with organizational risk appetite.
  • Collaboration with Technology: Work with technology partners to develop system requirements, design, testing plans, and deliverables that meet business needs.
  • Communication and Escalation: Provide ongoing communication to stakeholders and escalate significant issues promptly, offering recommendations for resolution.
  • Scope and Impact Analysis: Identify scope changes, assess their impact on project benefits and risks, and prioritize requirements to ensure business needs are met.
  • Mentorship and Team Development: Mentor junior analysts, share knowledge, and contribute to team skill development by leveraging best practices and providing guidance.
  • Continuous Learning: Enhance expertise in business analysis through training, relationship building, and on-the-job experiences to provide valuable advice and achieve career goals.
  • Collaboration and Relationship Building: Build and maintain productive relationships with business, stakeholders, and technology partners to foster a collaborative environment.
  • Workload Management: Prioritize and manage workload to meet project milestones while ensuring timely notification and resolution of potential issues.

Job Requirements:

Share your credentials, but your relevant experience and knowledge can be just as likely to get our attention. It helps if you have:

  • Undergraduate degree or Technical Certificate
  • 5- 7 years relevant experience
  • Technical Expertise: Advanced knowledge of system analysis processes, techniques, and components, including functionality, interfaces, data flows, and business rules. Proficiency in advanced Excel, XML, JSON, and familiarity with APIs, distributed systems, IBM Mainframe, JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint, and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure). Programming/scripting skills are assets.
  • Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of RESL products, investment plans, and industry-specific compliance and regulatory requirements, with the ability to align technical solutions to business needs.
  • Requirements Analysis: Expertise in defining, documenting (including visual diagrams), and translating business requirements into detailed system requirements, technical specifications, and functional/non-functional requirements. Skilled in business process modeling using tools like Visio and Excel.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with business partners, stakeholders, and technology teams to understand requirements, analyze system capabilities, and propose solutions. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to create clear documentation and tailor communication to diverse audiences.
  • Agile Delivery: Experience in Agile environments, contributing to effort estimation, identifying risks, and recommending mitigation measures. Familiarity with SDLC and methodologies like Agile, Waterfall, and DevOps.
  • Testing and Quality Assurance: Assist testing teams by translating requirements into test conditions and expected results. Experience in creating and executing test plans, validating system functionality, and working with automated testing tools.
  • Leadership and Mentorship: Lead cross-functional teams, facilitate workshops, and influence stakeholders to drive consensus. Coach and mentor less experienced colleagues, serving as a reference point throughout the requirements lifecycle.
  • Strategic Thinking and Problem-Solving: Align technical solutions with organizational goals through strategic thinking. Strong problem-solving skills to identify root causes and propose innovative solutions.
  • Risk and Change Management: Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks, issues, and dependencies. Contribute to change management best practices, including stakeholder analysis, communication planning, and assessing impacts on people, processes, and systems.
  • Continuous Learning and Positive Environment: Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices. Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment by building relationships, supporting recognition programs, and mentoring others.
