Job Description:

Global Transaction Banking (GTB) is a key growth business within TDS that provides the opportunity to make an impact with top tier organizations. We offer innovative solutions and treasury advisory services on large and complex liquidity, payments, and trade finance needs. The business constantly changes with macroeconomic conditions, unprecedented levels of innovation, interest rate environments, and foreign exchange movements. As a result, all GTB business lines continue to evolve to provide optimum trade finance, liquidity, and payment solutions to clients.

Global Transaction Banking technology team focuses on delivering top tier technology solutions to enable and grow the global GTB business.

Role Description

TDS has embarked on a multi-year digital transformation of GTB to position the transaction bank as a leading North American multi-currency treasury provider, enabling significant business growth across the TDS franchise.

Reporting to the Senior Manager of transaction banking, we are looking for a Business Analysis expert to plan, manage, and lead the delivery of detailed system requirements and technical and functional specifications that align to standards and frameworks. You will be driving requirements gathering for Transaction Banking clients facing solutions for payments, accounts and liquidity and investments products.

You will provide technical leadership and work in close partnership with ambitious business and technology partners, project teams and stakeholders to plan, elicit, analyze, document, communicate and manage detailed functional specifications. This is an opportunity to influence strategic technology solutions in the Global Transaction Banking space for corporate clients.

This role plays a key part in bridging the gap between business operations and technology by supporting the design and implementation of integrations between internal banking systems and external vendor platforms.

You'll collaborate with stakeholders across the bank - including lending, payments, trade finance, and core banking - while working closely with our vendors and engineering teams to define clear, actionable requirements. This is a highly collaborative, hands-on role ideal for someone who understands both the business impact and technical complexity of system integrations in a regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with business lines to gather, analyze, and document requirements.
  • Write detailed business and functional specifications for internal and external system interfaces. Using Jira stories.
  • As an SME Drive requirements gathering for Transaction Banking clients facing solutions for payments, accounts and liquidity and investments products.
  • Lead requirements workshops and create artifacts such as data flow diagrams, process models, and message mapping documents.
  • Define and document BDD-style requirements with precise acceptance criteria to guide development and validation.
  • Translate internal business needs into clear deliverables and contractual language for vendors.
  • Partner with vendors, solution designers, and engineers to align on design, Micro App front end and API behaviours, data formats, and exception handling.
  • Assist in testing efforts through scenario definition, defect triage, and requirements traceability.
  • Provide business context and analysis support during investigation of production issues.
  • Ensure all work aligns with internal ITIL-based change and release management processes.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of templates, standards, and integration documentation practices.

Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, with direct involvement in system build and integration projects.
  • Strong understanding of how systems and integrations support banking workflows.
  • Experience working with a mix of integrations types: APIs, batch file transfers, and message queues.
  • Familiarity with tools like Postman to test or inspect APIs and review Json/XML payloads.
  • Knowledge of mainframe integration patterns, including batch processing and flat file exchanges.
  • Comfort reading system logs and assisting with root cause analysis in support of Level 3 investigations.
  • Experience with both Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies.
  • Strong documentation skills, especially with BDD-style requirements and vendor-facing specifications.
  • Working knowledge of ITIL processes and change management practices in enterprise environments.
  • Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow, or equivalent.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple stakeholders and priorities.
