What will your typical day look like?

In this role you will be providing guidance and support to senior business leaders within the firm on the potential independence risk and considerations associated with engagements. You will work closely with the Partners, Directors and Senior Managers of the firm as well as our National Independence Team so you would need to be able to speak to senior members of Deloitte and drive the agenda to secure engagements while ensuring that we are not exposing ourselves to any independence issues.
You will need to have a strong background in consulting so that you understand the business as well as technology agreements to help you understand the engagement and the potential independence considerations tied to the engagement. You will play an instrumental role in assessing; negotiating; developing and providing guidance on the risk, including regulatory risks and possible relevant mitigations for handling Regulatory requirements. You will need to be confident, knowledgeable and assertive in your communications to the Consulting Partners and senior engagement practitioners.

You will play an instrumental role in assessing; negotiating; developing and providing guidance on the risk, including regulatory risks and possible relevant mitigations for handling Regulatory requirements. You will need to be confident, knowledgeable and assertive in your communications to the Consulting Partners and senior engagement practitioners.
The role would include but not be limited to providing leadership and thinking out of the box in areas related to digital transformation, innovation as well as ecosystems and alliances.

About the team
Independence is a nimble and flexible team that is always evolving and adjusting as the firm's business evolves. The team is about 30 people strong and is extremely consultative in its nature.

Are you someone who has:
  • Experience dealing with Independence related matters in a Professional Services Firm.
  • Risk management experience in addition to consulting type of work experience.
  • Superior verbal and written communication and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated confidence in unstructured environments
  • Ability to work in a demanding and fast paced environment independently and in a group
  • Strong organization skills: ability to prioritize work demands, and meet deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal relations and demonstrated ability to work with others effectively in teams
  • Proven analytical skills and systematic problem solving
  • In this role, one will work with Senior Partners to assist in enabling Firm's strategy and key technology enabled opportunities.
Nice to have:
  • French and/or Spanish language written and oral skills is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Firm's risk process and a law degree or a CPA designation is considered an asset.
