Job Description:

Department Overview :
The Product Manager, Direct Life and Health role is accountable for supporting the product team in defining product roadmap, strategy, and long-term vision. As an integral member of the team you will have the opportunity to support product design and development to deliver our product roadmap and growth aspirations. In collaboration with the product development team and other stakeholders, you will play a crucial role in shaping business deliverables and managing partner relationships. The role seeks an individual with product P&L knowledge and a passion for data/operational analytics while reporting to product managers and leadership. You will also be responsible for supporting the Sr. Manager in collaborating across the TD Insurance organization to ensure that success of products and enhancements that benefit our customers, colleagues and communities.

Job Description :
CUSTOMER
• Develop and manage the product development calendar for the team and oversee the successful and seamless execution of deliverables
• Support product managers in developing business plans to increase new account growth and track P&L impact
• Liaise with partners (i.e. Marketing, Phone Channel, Retail) to understand industry and customer trends; analyze challenges and identify areas of opportunity through customer research, focus groups, and external secondary research
• Support the product development team with budget of the team. Provide analysis for product managers to determine the optimal allocation of overall budget to ensure objectives can be achieved or exceeded
• Manage the identification of competitive offerings both in-market and out of market and their strengths and weaknesses including deep competitive analysis
• Support studies including market analysis to assess product performance including product lifecycle, quality, technical support, marketing programs and sales support
• Help monitor product / segment performance against objectives, recommending enhancements to ensure a consistent customer, brand experience

SHAREHOLDER
• Contribute to various operational activities and processes as assigned.
• Consistently exercise discretion in managing correspondence, information and all matters of confidentiality; escalate issues where appropriate
• Be knowledgeable of practices and procedures within own area of responsibility and keep abreast of emerging trends for own functional area
• Protect the interests of the organization identify and manage risks, and escalate non-standard, high risk activities as necessary
• Monitor service, productivity and assess efficiency levels within own function and implement continuous process / performance improvements where opportunities exists
• Acquire and apply expertise in the discipline Identify, recommend and effectively execute standard practices applicable to the discipline
• Adhere to internal policies/procedures and applicable regulatory guidelines
• Keep abreast of emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts
• Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite
• Ensure effective product policies and processes are established to support business processes align with risk appetite
• Support product managers in ensuring all products are in compliance and meet all regulatory requirements

• Participate fully as a member of the team, support a positive work environment that promotes service to the business, quality, innovation and teamwork and ensure timely communication
• Coordinate and prioritizes multiple initiatives and manages resource allocation
• Support the team by continuously enhancing knowledge / expertise in own area and participate in knowledge transfer within the team and business unit
• Keep current on trends and grow knowledge of the business, related tools and techniques
• Participate in personal performance management and development activities, including team cross training
• Keep others informed and up to date about the status / progress of projects and / or all relevant or useful information related to day-to-day activities
• Contribute to the success of the team by willingly assisting others in the completion and performance of work activities; provide training, coaching and/or guidance as appropriate
• Contribute to a fair, positive and equitable environment that supports a diverse workforce.
• Act as a brand ambassador for your business area/function and the bank, both internally and/or externally.
• Ability to present and make recommendations to senior management
• Ensure an integrated approach with other business areas, broader organization, and enterprise as appropriate
• Deep knowledge and understanding of businesses / technology, and organizational practices/ disciplines

Job Requirements :
• Undergraduate degree in (Finance, Business Management) or product management certificate
• 4 - 6 years relevant experience
• Preferred Previous Product experience in Insurance and/or Underwriting and/or Financial Products
• Data analytics is preferred
• Knowledge of and ability to conduct product research, product analysis and development, forecasting, pricing, competitive intelligence
• Deep knowledge and understanding of businesses, technology, organizational practices / disciplines
• Sound to advanced knowledge of competitor and market trends
• Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines
• Skill in preparing and managing budgets
• Skill in using analytical software tools, MS Office, data analysis methods and reporting techniques
• Ability to work collaboratively, communicate effectively (both speaking and writing), provide direction and build relationships across teams and functions
• Act as a brand ambassador for our business, the Bank, both internally and externally
