Role Description:
The Corporate Development Office (CDO) leads Deloitte's M&A, joint venture, alliances and international investment initiatives where Deloitte Canada enters into transactions to grow its services offerings. The CDO is committed to increasing value to the partnership through thoughtful execution and innovative thinking while targeting growth opportunities from these initiatives. The team over the last 5 years have executed a transaction every 2 to 3 months on average. Transactions have been undertaken in interesting areas such as cyber-security, specialized legal services, analytics, data, innovative technologies, artificial intelligence, infrastructure, capital projects disputes, reserves evaluations, to name but a few.

As a valued member of the CDO group, you will:
•Work as part of a Canadian collaborative transaction team;
•Assist in the development of the firm's strategy and evaluate the strategic fit;
•Work with senior executives;
•Support certain business lines in their strategic thinking;
•Research industry trends and transactions;
•Identify potential opportunities;
•Financial modeling of projects;
•Build transaction rationale of projects and get them approved;
•Work with the Deloitte global network on projects;
•Prioritize objectives and contribute to a variety of projects across all Deloitte service lines;
•Contribute to Deloitte's growth and development;
•Ensure our inclusion agenda is considered;
•Coordinate with the firm transaction teams (talent, legal, IT, real estate, independence, tax, marketing, etc.).

Qualifications:
•Strong interest in mergers & acquisitions;
•Majoring in Finance or other related field is an asset;
•General understanding of mergers and acquisitions, corporate development, investment and/or in strategy development;
•Experience in a technology or professional services environment is an asset;
•Strong proficiency in PowerPoint and building presentations;
•Strong proficiency in Excel and financial modelling;
•Strong written and communication skills;
•Leadership and sense of initiative;
•Strong interpersonal and team-building skills;
•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
•Ability to prioritize, execute and operate under tight timelines;
•Ethical, flexibility, integrity and professionalism;
•Exemplary record of achievement and excellent references.
