We, "AWS Quicksight Q team", are bunch of passionate engineers and designers who are determined to change the way customers interact with their data. We are a team of highly energetic and innovative engineers working on a very recently launched AWS Quicksight service called "Q" that uses Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Machine Learning (ML) to analyze the customer data at scale. You must be able to:
  • Write high-quality, efficient, testable code in Java and other object-oriented languages.
  • Build highly available, secure, distributed systems in a micro-services architecture.
  • Though having ML background is a plus, but there is ample opportunity within the team to interact with science team and understand ML infra ground up.
  • Collaborate with some of the best engineers in the industry.
  • Contribute to planning, design, implementation, testing, operations, and process improvement as a member of a Scrum team.

  • 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
  • 1+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science
  • 5+ years of software development experience in Java or C++ or C# etc.
  • Practical knowledge of professional software engineering practices including the full software development life cycle, coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Strong track record delivering high quality software on time.
  • Able to work in a diverse team
  • Strong analytical skills with excellent problem solving
  • Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, OS and distributed systems.


  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.
  • Deep understanding of OOP concepts, algorithms and data structures.
  • Working knowledge of AWS services
  • Experience delivering and operating large scale, highly available distributed systems.
  • Experience with building applications involving Natural Language Processing (NLP), Machine Learning (ML) and big data processing systems preferred.
  • Solid communication skills and ability to work well in a team are critical.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and agile development environment.
