TELUS Health is seeking a Senior IT Architect to provide technical leadership for a high profile strategic electronic healthcare platform. In this role you will drive the implementation of next generation electronic healthcare solutions by defining the overall architecture and technical roadmaps for critical TELUS Health platform and products. You will research, analyze, design, propose and deliver cloud scale solution architecture based on the strategic needs of the business.
You will partner with both technical and product teams to deliver high quality scalable, extensible, secure solutions that meets the needs of our growing business as we look to accelerate our adoption of cloud technologies. You should be conversant in current industry architectural standards and standard methodologies and able to drive technical/architectural vision.Here's how
•Be the trusted partner and go-to technical resource for our planning, project, and business development teams
•Be the go-to technical resource for partnership discussions, technical evaluations and negotiations and be the first line representation for our technical capabilities in key presentations and meetings inside and outside the company
•Identifying and recommending conceptual, logical and physical architectures and corresponding solution designs aligned with architectural strategy
•Produce solution descriptions and blueprints, assist with development estimates and suggest implementation strategies
•Identify areas of opportunity for technology evolution from industry advancements and trends
•Develop technology roadmaps to ensure products stay aligned to the advancing enterprise architecture and coach delivery team members on adoption
•Engage in all phases of project life cycle, from pre-sales to project kick-off through to implementation
•Work with lead Developers to guide load and performance testing and tuning efforts
•Participate in code reviews and code walk-through, to ensure overall technical integrity of application/solution Qualifications:You're the missing piece of the puzzle
•Bilingualism in English & French
•Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field, or equivalent work experience
•You should have a minimum of five years of experience complex engineering problems and ten years in software/service product development/management and driving agile product development
•Solid understanding of API platform design, Restful, Event Driven, and Microservices technologies for large scale, multi-team development environments
•Experience in Healthcare IT Services with a focus on software architecture
•Strong written and oral communication skills and comfortable delivering presentations to small and large groups including executive level management internally and externally
•Progressive software development experience, developing high-volume, on-line transaction processing applications in a multi-platform, multi-tiered, 24x7 environment
•Strong software architecture, design and development skills along with hands-on programming skills in Java and database technologies
•Strong understanding of web-based application architectures and in-depth knowledge of several e-business technologies including application servers, portal technologies, web services, middleware, enterprise application integration (EAI)/legacy systems, systems infrastructure
•Knowledge of web security issues and technologies for authentication, encryption, authorization; privacy and data security issues and legislation
•Expertise in modern development concepts: micro-service architecture, test-driven development (TDD), Agile, continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) Great-to-have
•Certification or knowledge with enterprise architecture tools and frameworks: Archimate, The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF), Zachmann Who is TELUS?
