What We do

The Senior Solution Architect is the primary sales support function for TELUS' Managed IT Services (MITS) portfolio. The position requires a mixture of business, sales, and technical abilities. Working directly with TELUS clients, the Senior Solution Architect will analyze the client's technical and business requirements in order to develop a TELUS solution that will resolve the key business issues. We create design excellence in a wide range of technologies in order to provide a complete solution but will also work as part of a broader team that includes subject matter experts.

What You will do
    •Ensure the integrity of all customer solutions and work closely with all levels of IT Operations, Product Marketing, Sales and Project Management to ensure that proposed solutions are feasible and sustainable •Develop RFI, RFQ, RFP, etc. content including solution diagrams, technical descriptions, and presentation material to prospective customers; •Translate complex technical information into compelling and understandable business propositions •Work with the Sales/Account teams to ensure that proposed solutions integrate within the customers overall IT environment and strategy •Retain responsibility for the clients' solution until the solution has been transferred to operational status as part of the transition project, and ensure an effective transfer of solution responsibility to the Implementation and Project Management Offices •Remain abreast of new developments in the industry by attending shows, conferences and engaging in forum discussions •Analyze TELUS products and services in comparison to those offered by the competition •Conduct presentations to both customer and TELUS audience


Qualifications:

    •IT architecture best practices and methodologies •Cloud use cases and best practices Cloud platforms and services •Tools, technologies, and methodologies for:
      •Storage Area Networks •Data Protection •Disaster Recovery •Operating System environments such as MS Windows, Linux, and UNIX •Active Directory, Identity Management, Directory services •IT Service Management •Network services such as VPNs and Load Balancing •Networking such as LAN / WAN technologies and services •Security services such as Firewalls, Log Retention & Analysis, Intrusion Prevention systems •Enterprise Email and communications platforms
    •Ability to quickly discover customer's key technical and business issues and strategy •Demonstrated competency to develop competitive value-add solutions through creativity and innovation

Professional Certification and Experience
    •Post-secondary degree/diploma Computer Science / Engineering or equivalent •Formal business training (such as an MBA) - asset •Sales training/Account Planning - definite asset •10+ years of related work experience in the IT industry, with minimum 5 years in a pre-sales engineering role; Minimum 5 years of experience developing complete IT solutions •Experience planning the migration of select workloads to a cloud platform •Consultative selling experience
