The Opportunity

KPMG's Deal Advisory, which is focused on value creation, has a new operations practice called Rapid Performance Improvement (RPI). The team has members and specialists dedicated to delivering rapid results that can easily be operationalized around the value creation sphere for all departments. We support clients in diverse situations such as:
  • Providing performance improvement advice, based on the full range of advisory services (pre- or post-transaction);
  • Establishing the operational and commercial viability of a potential target acquisition through a very rapid operational and financial diagnosis;
  • Managing complex and volatile situations by optimizing corporate profitability and liquidity; and
  • Improving working capital by optimizing payables, receivables and inventory management processes.

What you will do

  • Work directly with our financial and operational managers on business use cases and present solutions to our key stakeholders;
  • Transform complex data into easy-to-understand visual information using Power BI;
  • Using Alteryx and/or SQL, build effective data pipelines that will make the data highly usable (and accessible) to stakeholders;
  • Work closely with business stakeholders and IT departments to identify and extract the data required for the analyses;
  • Test the quality of the data received; and
  • Manage projects and lead data analysts to identify levers of value creation.

What you bring to the role

  • From 3 to 5 years of experience, along with a Bachelor degree in data analysis, computer science, economics, finance or a related field (preferred);
  • Knowledge and work experience in:
    • developing dashboards using various technological tools such as: Power BI, Excel, Alteryx, etc.;
    • multidimensional or tabular data models, data warehouses, data lakes and visualization tools such as Power BI in projects involving large volumes of data;
  • Experience creating complex metrics in BI tools and Excel Power Suite;
  • Experience with Alteryx is an asset;
  • Experience in SQL is an asset;
  • Knowledge of web scraping in Python is an asset;
  • Experience working with financial data and an understanding of the key financial factors affecting a professional services firm;
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is essential to interact with clients and colleagues in the rest of Canada and outside Canada.
