In this role, you will be an integral part of the National Benefits Team, delivering excellent support and impeccable customer service to over 27,000 internal team members, over 22,000 retirees and other external customers across Canada. Alongside, the larger People & Culture Operations team, working with payroll administrators and specialists, you will put your best foot forward by helping:
    • Deliver superior team member experiences by providing benefits expertise and consultancy to all of our stakeholders • Bridge the gap between system and people by being the business process expert of the various HR tools we own and providing ongoing coaching to our benefit and payroll administrators • Bring a mindset of innovation and continuous improvement by challenging the status quo and implementing process improvements that lean out work on the team • Ensure the integrity of our overall data through audits, automation, and a relentless focus on safeguarding the quality of our work

Here's how

Reporting to the Manager, National Benefits Administration, you will bring your A-game by being an:

Expert in your field:
    • Acts as the lead and end-to-end owner of the portfolio assigned, administering group insurance benefits programs (EHB, dental, primary life and accident, plus optional insurances, LTD, etc.) • Monitor benefits shared mailbox and online benefits system to provide rapid counsel and support team members for a wide range of benefits issues • Manage benefit plans for members during leave of absence, respond to their inquiries using our service ticket platform • Actively participate in benefits projects such as annual enrollment, HRIS (SAP) system changes, Flexit360 benefits tool release management including, testing, documentation creation and deployment • Coordinate with internal partners in Payroll and Health Services to ensure premiums are administered according to policy, accurately and in a timely manner • Proactively identify areas of opportunity for automation and process improvements with the team member experience in mind • Provide support, direction and policy interpretation on all escalated administration issues to 3rd parties and ensure all documentation for knowledge sharing is updated for future reference and issue resolution • Conduct regular audits and monitor program efficiency to ensure issues, anomalies and trends are identified early

Engaging Communicator:
    • Must be comfortable to collaborate and share knowledge • Builds relationships with the various stakeholders that you support through your deliverables within the P&C Operations team • Collaborates with senior leaders to manage escalations and identify efficiency opportunities


You're the missing piece of the puzzle
    • Minimum of 5 years' experience in payroll and benefits; working on both federally and provincially regulated Canadian payrolls • Strong systems experience (Benefits Administration - e.g. Flexit360, SAP or Success Factors) • Flex benefits design knowledge • Have experience working in a unionized environment • Praised for your knowledge and awareness of all areas within HR, especially operational in nature • Recognized for your knowledge of Canada Labour Code and provincial Employment Standards regulation • Known for your strong system expertise with proficiency in Microsoft Office tools • You have post-secondary education in a business-related discipline, preferably in Human Resources • Bilingual in English and French, both written and verbal (required)

    • CEBS GBA 1 and GBA 2 or willing to obtain
