You will be part of a high-powered team focused on entrepreneurship, a team that designs vertical solutions to accelerate the adoption of telematics in order to improve productivity, security and compliance while also reducing costs and environmental impacts.

We are looking for a rare gem who is passionate about and motivated by their field and can help us drive FOCUS by TELUS to new heights. In this role, you will be part of an infrastructure team charged with managing all aspects of the Linux servers that host the FOCUS by TELUS solution. You will have opportunities to contribute in concrete ways to improving our practices and tools. You will propose and implement solutions to problems that have a direct impact on the team, our partners and our customers.

    • Monitor and resolve problems that affect or will affect the performance and stability of servers, applications or automatic deployment processes
    • Find, investigate and deploy tools that can help to identify and resolve problems affecting the servers
    • Be on the lookout for any security problems that may affect the integrity of our servers, and take action when necessary
    • Ensure compliance with best security practices
    • Ensure that backup copies are made, and that they can be restored
    • Participate with other team members on our 24/7 support effort for critical problems
    • Participate in scheduled maintenances which are performed a few times a year on evenings or weekends, and which take less than 4 hours
    • Help to deploy various new technologies


Required skills
    • Ability to work independently, a driven approach, passion for what you do, creativity and innovation
    • Strong analytical problem-solving skills
    • Good communication skills in French and English (spoken and written)
    • Team player attitude and ability to collaborate and communicate effectively
    • Proven ability to prioritize tasks

Required experience
    • 3 years of experience in a similar position
    • Good knowledge of Linux and its ecosystem of tools in a command prompt environment
    • Good knowledge of IP networking and the various elements that comprise it
    • College attestation or diploma (AEC/DEC) in computer science/computer systems or undergraduate degree in computer science

    • Knowledge of the Microsoft Azure environment
    • Knowledge of scripting languages like Bash, Python or Perl
    • Knowledge of SQL, or ideally MySQL and its unique features
    • Knowledge of containerized image technology with Kubernetes
    • Knowledge of KAFKA technology
    • Knowledge of Pulsar technology (producer/consumer communication protocol)
