This position is part of the TD Insurance Finance team. TDI Finance drives value by providing financial support across all of TD Insurance to ensure that key drivers of the business are quantified and well understood, the right business decisions are made among competing options, and that capital is being deployed as efficiently as possible. This is a dynamic department that will play critical role in the ongoing success of TD Insurance.

Job Description
This position reports directly to the Senior Manager Finance, GI Business Support and will accomplish a variety of tasks mostly related to project initiatives impacting Finance and supporting finance colleagues to gather financial information once these initiatives are implemented. Considering that these projects can have major impacts on accounting, reporting and expense allocations, TD Insurance Finance is seeking for a Manager to support our business partners implementing their initiatives.

Key Activities
  • Provide financial support to business partners and perform ad hoc analyses on a wide variety of issues that arise in the insurance business.
  • Work closely with internal business partners to provide insights on business drivers.
  • Provide analysis or assist in the preparation of analysis to aid decision-making, ensuring that assumptions for business cases are achievable and that performance measurement processes for various strategic initiatives are in place.
  • Participate in business initiatives to evaluate and recommend solutions to financial and operational issues.
  • Conduct peer benchmarking analysis
  • Work closely with all finance groups to ensure accuracy of financial information.
  • Work closely with business partners to improve reporting, forecasting and planning
  • Support the preparation of monthly management reports and metrics summary, with emphasis on report adaptation, automation and documentation based on changing needs and priorities.
  • Continuously improve processes and documentation while ensuring compliance to internal policies and best practices


Requirements
  • A CPA CGA, CMA or CA member (an asset) with 5-7 years of experience
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel, Word, and Powerpoint.
  • Experience with Hyperion SmartView, and Oracle Business Intelligence is preferable.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to identify key trends, risks and opportunities.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively to meet tight timelines.
  • Ability to write clear and concise communications and present information in a professional and diplomatic manner.
  • Candidate needs to be comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where every day is different!
