As our Manager of Cybersecurity Technical & Professional Security Services (TPSS), you are a transformative leader with an innate ability to motivate a high-performing security architecture & design team through your strong communication and collaboration. On any given day, you will oversee security architectures across both network and application environments, provide strategic security guidance on new technology or service offerings being developed, and support and develop your team. Your team will also have accountability for developing market-leading Technical & Professional Security Services, architectures, and technical roadmaps.

      •Lead technical roadmap and architectural design for our managed security customers •Build & maintain a 3 year TPSS roadmap and proactively plan and manage a capex/opex budget
    •You apply your deep subject matter expertise to advance strategic security platforms and processes
      •Conduct security architecture reviews and recommendations for our managed security customers •Provide security architecture leadership for complex customer projects & in day 2 •Develop, implement and maintain security standards and procedures •You use a collaborative leadership approach to manage various stakeholder relationships •Forge a strong relationship with the national Cybersecurity service delivery & day 2 teams to build critical security systems and networks that meet high standards and targeted outcomes our customers are expecting •Engage with the Complex Solutioning and Managed Security Solutions delivery teams to architect solutions that meet TELUS' quality, resiliency, reliability, performance and Customers First mandates •Own and manage relationships with strategic external partners and collaborate on security programs •Work with vendors to evaluate new capabilities via trials and Proof of Concepts •Provide project coordination and management support, and ensure comprehensive and effective information communication across various functional and project teams
    •You are considered a trusted strategic advisor to the business
      •Work with our MSSP Product Management team on the introduction and lifecycle management of our managed security product portfolio


Required knowledge
    •Advanced knowledge of current and emerging security technologies •In-depth knowledge of security architectural design and implementation methodologies including software, network and infrastructure •Knowledge of industry network and information security methods, standards, architectures, policies and procedures •Knowledge of standard business processes, partner management, customer engagement and management processes, and risk management drivers •Understanding of software-defined networking (SDN) and virtualization technologies such as network function virtualization (NFV) •Recent background in and good understanding of data center technologies including network, compute, storage, virtualization, containers and enterprise application stacks •Deep understanding of networks (OSI model, Internet routing and peering) •Understanding of the cyber-kill chain model and associated technologies, and detection/mitigation techniques such as firewalls, traffic scrubbing, signature-based detection, 0-day detection, etc

    •Strategist: Ability to develop concepts and technology roadmaps associated with changing operations and adapt to emerging threats •Project manager: Ability to lead transformative & Agile multi-year programs •Big picture thinker: Strong analytical capability with excellent attention to detail •Customer advocate: Strong customer focus and commitment to service excellence •Expert communicator: Excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to interact with all levels of senior leadership •Bilingual: French & English preferred

Required education and designations
    •University degree in Electrical/Software Engineering or Computer Science at minimum Master's or higher technical degree in Computer Science or Electrical/Computer Engineering •Professional security certifications including CISSP, CISM, SANS, etc •IT and/or Architecture certifications (SABSA, TOGAF, etc) •You must have/be able to obtain and maintain Secret Level clearance

Required experience
    •Previous experience managing/leading teams of 6+ technical team members, with a successful track record of team engagement and performance •Experience working with cross-functional teams and across all levels of management •Minimum of 5+ years of network/information security experience, enterprise IT experience and critical infrastructure/mission-critical industry experience (such as military/defense, utility, etc) •Experience in network architecture, application architecture, enterprise architecture, or infrastructure operations •Proven ability and experience innovating (patents and/or published peer-reviewed academic papers)
