TELUS Health Solutions is seeking a Learning Specialist II to provide advanced training during our Electronic Medical Record (EMR) implementations. Here's the impact you'll make and what we'll accomplish together
The candidate selected will be responsible for delivering and administering the training programs required by EMR users.
The training for doctors & medical staff focuses specifically on, but is not limited to, implementing EMRs. The Training Specialist II must be able to teach a small group while maximizing the participants' learning of the applications chosen by the clients, managing the class and effectively explaining technical material to less experienced users. The specialist is responsible for delivering different training contents in a variety of formats, including individual meetings, group seminars and online training.
The mandate of Learning Specialists II is to help TELUS Health Solutions clients optimize the uptake of their new clinical information systems, notably by working with them to define the workflow and best practices for their clinic through the use of effective, tested change management methods.
Learning Specialists help clinicians who use an EMR to identify and manage their key factors in order to derive the full benefit of this technology's value.
•Understand the existing clinical processes by conducting an in-depth analysis of the clinic's current workflow and data collection, the details of the reports used and other issues related to practice-specific workflow
•Work with the project team members and the clinic's super users to assist in the design, validation and implementation of EMR-based workflow and best practices
•Adapt a training plan based on EMR-focused workflow
•Train new clients with practical in-person sessions or by remotely using web tools
•Ensure that clients are able to adequately use the application by the end of the training
•Have the necessary materials on hand to deliver effective training
•Help design and develop additional materials to reinforce the learning objectives
•Apply the principles of instructional design for adult learning in new, initial and periodic training sessions and in personalized training
•Follow training team procedures, standards, models and styles Qualifications:You're the missing piece of the puzzle
•Bilingualism in English & French
•Excellent spoken and written communication skills as applicable to teaching methods and interpersonal relationships
•Knowledge of clinical workflow to provide the client with informed consulting services and to positively and effectively manage change at the clinic
•Excellent problem-solving, organization and time management skills
•Excellent ability to use various virtual technology tools to share information
•Strong analytical and decision-making skills
•Proficiency with the Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
•Ability to respond quickly in a fast-changing environment
•Ability to multitask yet pay close attention to detail
•Empathetic approach in order to identify clients' needs and adapt to diverse clienteles
•Knowledge of provincial billing regulations & requirements by Régie de l'assurance maladie du Québec (RAMQ)
•Goal-oriented approach and ability to work independently
•Ability to write clear, concise and effective training documents
•Advanced familiarity with the computer for tasks such as creating and assessing workflow diagrams, creating documentation, presenting applications, etc
•Bachelor's degree in a field related to the position, or related work experience
•Experience delivering required training
•Openness to the idea of travelling up to 80% of the time and the flexibility to work additional hours, including occasional evenings and weekends
•Valid driver's licence Great-to-haves
•Experience in nursing care, health care management and/or project management
•Experience in instructional design
•Experience related to Information Technology (IT) applications used in health care
