Our team is working at the forefront of the digital health software development. We are building TELUS Health - Exchange, the components of which enable PrescribeIT, a national e-prescribing service, as well as MedDialog, a national communication solution for physicians.

After joining us, you'll become part of the dynamic, Agile Development & Scrum team delivering releases of TELUS Health - Exchange. By working with our partners, electronic medical record (EMR) and pharmacy software vendors, you will help make advanced digital health solutions available for Canadians. Our technology can improve health outcomes by connecting doctors and other health practitioners with one another and with their patients.

Here's how
    •Design, code, test and debug software of high complexity •Be involved in all aspects of the Agile project life cycle, from the initial kick-off through the requirements analysis, design, development, integration and implementation •Systems analysis and design, system modeling, performance modeling, integration planning and technology and component selection to ensure architectural consistency and coherence between technical and business processes •Participate in creation of technical design documentation: Detail design & architecture blueprint documents


You're the missing piece of the puzzle
    •Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Health Information Science or equivalent •5 or more years of experience in Java development and frameworks, combined with experience in:
      •Relational database management system (RDBMS), Structured Query Language (SQL) •Spring Framework, Spring Boot •Web service development: REST or SOAP •Eclipse, Maven, svn or git •At least one application server: Tomcat, WebLogic, WebSphere, JBoss/WildFly •Hypertext Markup Language (HTML), Extensible Markup Language (XML), JUnit, Hibernate
    •Proven problem solving and troubleshooting skills •Solid understanding of service oriented architecture and design patterns •10+ years of experience and expert level knowledge with object oriented (OO) methodology and programming •Very good knowledge of RDBMS & SQL •Demonstrated capacity for problem solving, synthesis, and making sound recommendations and decisions •Knowledge of Lean & Agile methodologies •DevOps and automation experience •Demonstrated experience with Java-based application design and development, technologies: Java Database Connectivity (JDBC), Java Message Service (JMS), Java Security, XML and related technologies: Extensible Stylesheet Language Transformation (XSLT), XML Schema, web services including REST and/or SOAP

    •Knowledge and experience with Apache Camel •Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) •Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, RedHat OpenShift •Automation using scripting: Perl, Unix Shell, JavaScript •Progressive software development experience, developing high-volume, online transaction processing applications in a multi-platform, multi-tiered, 24x7 environment
