Our team is working at the forefront of digital health software development. We are building Telus Health Exchange, the components of which enable PrescribeIT®, a national e-prescribing service, as well as MedDialog, a national communication solution for physicians.

After joining us, you'll become part of the dynamic, agile development Scrum team delivering releases of Telus Health Exchange. By working with our partners, EMR and pharmacy software vendors, you will help make advanced digital health solutions available for Canadians. Our technology can improve health outcomes by connecting doctors and other health practitioners with one another and with their patients.

Here's how
    •Design, code, test and debug software of high complexity
    •Be involved in all aspects of the Agile project life cycle, from the initial kickoff through the requirements analysis, design, development, integration and implementation
    •Participate in Dev Ops and Tier3 technical support on a scheduled basis, being on-call for about 14 days each calendar month. This role includes flexible shifts (e.g. working from 1:30pm to 9:30pm on some days) as well as regular on-call responsibilities during non-business hours
    •Investigate, troubleshoot and fix live problems based on alerts raised by the monitoring tools and issues reported by customers
    •Systems analysis and design, system modeling, performance modeling, integration planning and technology and component selection to ensure architectural consistency and coherence between technical and business processes
    •Participate in creation of technical design documentation (e.g. Detail Design and Architecture Blueprint documents)


You're the missing piece of the puzzle
    •Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Health Information Science or equivalent
    •5 or more years of experience in JAVA development and frameworks, combined with experience in:
      •RDBMS, SQL
      •Spring Framework, Spring Boot
      •Web Service development (REST or SOAP)
      •Eclipse, Maven, svn or git
      •At least one application server
      •JSON, XML, JUnit, Hibernate
    •Proven problem solving and troubleshooting skills
    •Solid understanding of design patterns
    •OO methodology and programming (5+ Years)
    •Very good knowledge of Relational DBMS and SQL.
    •Demonstrated capacity for problem solving, synthesis, and making sound recommendations and decisions
    •Knowledge of lean and agile methodologies
    •DevOps and automation experience

    •Knowledge and experience with Apache Camel
    •Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, RedHat OpenShift
    •Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or Amazon Web Services (AWS)
    •Automation using scripting and other approaches
    •Progressive software development experience, developing high-volume, on-line transaction processing applications in a multi-platform, multi-tiered, 24x7 environment
