Developer Analyst III - THPS

Reporting to the Development Manager, the candidate selected for the position of Developer will take part in upgrading and maintaining TELUS Health solutions, in the Pharmacy division.

You will be part of a large, dynamic development team including several other developers from all levels. Within this large team, each developer is assigned to a self-organized SCRUM team. Work organization is structured and motivating, with production deliveries every three weeks. Our SCRUM team structure facilitates and encourages knowledge sharing, expertise development, teamwork and engagement. The developer's environment features high-performance workstations and tools and a continually updated Framework.

The application being developed is at the cutting edge of technology, and the company is making the transition toward Cloud technologies. Specifically, you will help optimize, upgrade and support the pharmacy management application and work on converting legacy software data to it. This complex application is intended to perform and simplify activities entailed in pharmacy operations management (prescription renewals, insurance claims, patient information updates, interconnectivity with external systems, etc).

    •Program the application in at a number of levels (back end, database, data conversion scripts, reports, infrastructure, front end, etc.), which includes performance enhancements, adding functionality and repairs •Investigate production incidents, discover their source, and find solutions for them •Reinforce the application by correcting any bugs reported •Take part in application performance monitoring and detecting errors in logs to identify potential failures •Provide 24/7 support for installations on a rotating schedule with other team members •Quickly learn about a fascinating facet of the business and show growing proficiency of the software such as to be assigned increasingly complex development missions (development of new functional modules, refactoring, etc.) •Work closely with the quality assurance team to increase and improve coverage of automated tests and understand how to reproduce software bugs •Propose performance, stability and usability optimizations •Help develop functional analyses and test strategies by communicating regularly and by supporting business and quality assurance analysts •Work as part of a team in an Agile development environment (SCRUM)


Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
    •Extensive experience in Microsoft.Net framework, C# •Extensive experience in Microsoft SQL Server (script development, StoredProc, modelling, ETL) •Experience in an environment that uses WCF services •Experience with ASP.NET (native controls, Kendo) •Bilingualism (French/English) •Experience in Microsoft SSIS or another data transformation engine an asset •Experience in ReportDesigner such as SSRS an asset •Knowledge of medical or pharmacy systems an asset •Knowledge of Btrieve database an asset •Effective investigating, analyzing and problem solving •Ability to handle pressure and act quickly to deliver results •Demonstrated desire and ability to learn new technologies •Team player attitude and capacity to collaborate and communicate effectively •Creative and innovative disposition •Dynamic, motivating outlook and a good sense of humour

Required Education:
    •Post-secondary degree in computer science

Required Experience:
    •5-10 years of experience in a similar role
