Reporting to the Development Manager, the candidate selected for the position of Development DBA will act as a leader in the design and support of multiple Production databases and in the maintenance of the software suite used for data transformation (ETL) with TELUS Health solutions, in our Pharmacy division.

You will be part of a dynamic team made up of developers of all levels, quality assurance analysts, and business and technology analysts. Within this team, you will be assigned to a self-organizing SCRUM team. The team's work is organized in a structured and highly motivating way, with production deliveries every three weeks. SCRUM team structure facilitates and encourages knowledge sharing, teamwork, engagement, and the development of expertise. As a DBA, you will influence technological decisions about database design, and you'll be on the front lines for the development, evolution and support of tools used to manipulate highly sensitive data. You will also support other teams who will rely on your extensive database experience, including the Operations team, for the investigation and monitoring of production databases.
You will use technologies like SSIS, SSRS and Pentaho Data Integration (Kettle). You will be an essential participant in the monitoring of various implementation projects relating to the conversion and manipulation of our customers' data. The company is currently making the transition to Cloud technologies.Here's how:
•Act as a programming leader at multiple levels (SSIS, writing and revising SQL scripts, database modelling, report design, Powershell scripts)
•Closely monitor compliance with data integrity rules and the performance of Production databases
•Contribute to database architecture by issuing infrastructure and design recommendations and collaborating closely with the solution architect
•Investigate incidents relating to production data, identify their source, and find solutions to resolve them quickly
•Quickly generate ideas and create powerful, robust and high-quality tools to meet the urgent needs of data transformation projects
•Guide, coach and mentor your colleagues in the completion of their daily tasks in order to ensure optimized and high-quality project deliveries
•Initiate discussions, propose solutions, follow up on them, and act as an agent of change to drive continuous improvement within your own team and other teams
•When necessary, provide 24/7 tool support for implementation projects relating to the conversion and manipulation of our customers' data (rotating schedule shared with other members of the team)
•Work as part of a team in an Agile development environment (SCRUM)Qualifications:Training:
•College diploma (DEC) or university degree in computer science Required Experience:
•10 years of experience in database development and/or administration Knowledge and Skills:Required:
•Extensive experience in MS SQL Server (modelling, SQL script creation, StoredProc)
•Experience with one of the following ETL tools: SSIS, DTS, Kettle
•Basic experience with production database administration
•Bilingualism (French/English) Also an Asset:
•Experience with Oracle
•Experience with Powershell scripts
•Experience with report design software like SSRS or Crystal Reports
•Experience in C# development
•Knowledge of AWS or cloud hosting
•Knowledge of medical or pharmacy systems
•Knowledge of Btrieve database software Skills:
