Specifically, our Governance, Risk and Compliance practice is made up of business-focused consultants who strive to understand our clients' issues and to design and implement solutions to their challenges. What you will do
You will be involved in a range of mandates for clients of varying size, scope and complexity, in the areas of Internal Audit, Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR) and Governance/Enterprise Risk Management (ERM). Your day-to-day activities will include:
- Participating in internal audit engagements to help our clients assess risk exposure and the design and operating effectiveness of controls. You will help plan the audit scope and approach, develop the customized audit program, perform audit procedures, discuss findings with clients and draft internal audit reports.
- Contribute to the planning and execution of ICFR engagements to assist clients in their National Instrument 52-109 (NI 52-109) or Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) executive certification process. Your responsibilities will include documenting relevant financial processes and internal controls, as well as performing tests to evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of identified key controls.
- Assist organizations with various types of enterprise risk management engagements, including but not limited to developing risk appetite statements, designing and implementing various risk management frameworks, and facilitating enterprise risk assessments.
- Conduct client interviews, review and analyze documents and data, conduct research and benchmarking, and participate in client workshops.
- Degree(s): Undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited university in accounting, business administration, finance, economics or a related field.
- Certification(s): Possess (or in the process of obtaining) CPA, CIA, CRMA, a strong asset.
- Up to 5 years' experience in an audit or accounting firm or in a corporate environment in internal audit, internal control, risk management or compliance functions.
- General understanding of internal audit, governance, risk management or regulatory compliance (e.g. SOX/52-109).
- Self-motivated, able to prioritize tasks and cope with change.
- Highly organized, methodical and rigorous, with excellent ability to analyze and interpret information.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to interact effectively and build relationships with a diverse group of customers and colleagues.
