We are looking for Cloud System Administrator Support Specialists who will provide excellent technical customer service support for Google Cloud Platform products and solutions including Google Compute Engine and related services. Working in a blended call center environment, you will provide real time technical assistance and developer support over the phone and via online communications based on client requirements as part of a global 24x7 support organization. This role will also work closely with engineers and product managers to improve the product and make our customers successful.Here's how
•Provide technical support to customers using Cloud Platform products, solutions and application program interfaces (APIs)
•Identify and document product bugs and feature requests and work with internal support teams as well as customers to implement effective solutions
•Work closely with internal support teams to improve cloud products at a senior level, suggesting and making changes to the product code
•Provide assistance and guidance to users through public forums, third party and Google-owned Qualifications:You're the missing piece of the puzzle
•Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix & Windows Server
•Familiarity with shell scripting, multi-tasking and multi-processing
•Strong understanding of administration: user accounts, permission models, access control
•Familiarity with networking: network address translation (NAT), firewalls, basic routing, load balancing, etc
•Experience troubleshooting Linux performance: CPU, memory, I/O, and familiarity with common Linux troubleshooting tools: vmstat, iostat, lsof, strace, etc
•Familiarity with application of cryptographic tools and concepts: public/private key auth, ssh, etc
•Familiarity with Structured Query Language (SQL), any dialect
•Familiarity with Cloud computing
•Ability to research using internal knowledge bases and public-facing documentation: Google Developers, StackOverflow, etc
•Strong sense of business ownership and customer focus
•Must have advanced oral and written English language and communication skills Great-to-haves
•Experience with virtual machines: Google Compute Engine, VMware, Amazon EC2, etc
•Familiarity with BigQuery, Cloud Storage and Cloud SQL
•Coding ability in one or more languages: Java, Python, C++, etc
•Familiarity with software commonly used on VMs: MongoDB, Hadoop, etc
•Experience in deploying and managing distributed systems and clusters
•Familiarity with web and mail protocols: Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP), Transport Layer Security (TLS), Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP), etc
