Job Summary

The Team
At the Clean Energy and Major Projects Office (CEMPO), part of the Ministry of Energy, Mines, and Low Carbon Innovation, you'll join a dynamic team of around 20 professionals dedicated to advancing British Columbia's clean energy goals. This team plays a key role in supporting clean energy projects, including hydrogen, carbon capture, biofuels, and renewable natural gas, to create sustainable jobs and promote Indigenous reconciliation. Established in 2023, CEMPO works closely with government partners to drive investment in clean energy, fostering a diverse, inclusive environment where everyone's contributions are valued.

The Role
In this role, you will coordinate and guide projects that support B.C.'s clean energy future, ensuring compliance with project management standards and collaborating across organizational boundaries. You'll be responsible for managing high-profile projects, tracking progress, mitigating risks, and ensuring effective communication with various stakeholders. The position involves working on initiatives that help accelerate clean energy investment and create sustainable jobs during the transition to a cleaner economy.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements


• Undergraduate degree or higher and a minimum of 6 months of related experience*; OR
• Diploma/Technical diploma and a minimum of 1 year of related experience*; OR
• An equivalent combination of education and 2 years of related experience* may be considered.

*Related experience includes the following:
• Experience providing project management and coordination services for assigned projects.
• Experience applying project management principles and practices.
• Experience creating PowerPoint presentations.
• Experience scheduling meetings and organizing working groups.

Preference may be given to applicants with 1 or more of the following:
• Experience in the natural resource sector (office management, leading projects), or experience working in a regulatory/permitting environment.
• Experience in utilizing various information and project management platforms in a public sector environment (e.g. SharePoint, eApprovals, CLIFF).
• Three (3) or more years *Related experience.

About this Position:
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work a few days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
This is a temporary opportunity until May 31, 2025. This position may be extended or become permanent.
